Placitas Artists Series
Music & Art in the Foothills
Part of our Mission includes community outreach. Placitas Artists Series accomplishes this mission in several different ways, and with the financial assistance of grant funding and the generosity of sponsors, musicians, singers, local visual artists, and our dedicated volunteers. Additionally, blocks of concert tickets are provided to community center managers throughout Sandoval county; these tickets are provided free to senior citizens so they can attend a concert. Placitas Artists Series partners with other local organizations to present programs for children, families, and the community in general. PAS recently partnered with the Santa Fe Opera to present a series of Opera Basics talks with Oliver Prezant, conductor and educator with the Santa Fe Opera. 2026 Outreach Activities March 1st - Young Voices of the Santa Fe Opera, at Placitas Community Library, in partnership with the children’s committee March 22nd - “The Inner Workings of Chamber Music”, at Las Placitas Presbyterian Church. Featuring Cármelo de los Santos, violin, and Natasha Stojanovska, piano, with Oliver Prezant, who says: “Listen here…and here…and here! It’s fascinating to listen closely and to watch the way musicians work together when they play chamber music. The intimate dialogue between instruments, the shifting roles of leading and following, the whispers of tenderness, the thunderings of passion, the contrasts of character, and the boldness of individual expression are on full display in this marvelous genre where musicians meet, person to person, in the music that they share with you.” The music we’ll hear is César Franck’s Violin Sonata, a Romantic-era favorite that is sure to delight. This event is a gift to the community from Placitas Artists Series, made possible by the generosity of Harriet and Jim Neal. Registration is now open. Must register to attend, maximum of four tickets per registrant. Click here to register. April 19th - Violin Wizardry, Carmelo de los Santos and Oliver Prezant, at the Placitas Community Library, in partnership with the children’s committee
