Classical strings artists Megan and James Holland, along with pianist Tzu-Feng Liu, will
offer a program of piano trios on Sunday, February 20 as part of the Placitas Artists Series
(PAS) 35th season. The ensemble will present works by Johannes Brahms and Dmitri
Shostakovich. We will also live-stream this concert for audiences who wish to enjoy the

Originally from Albuquerque, violinist Megan Holland has performed throughout the United
States, Mexico, Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands. Reviewers have characterized her
performances as "poised" and "powerful." Holland has received degrees in music from the
Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of Southern California. She has previously held
principal positions in the Charleston Symphony, Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra, and Opera
Southwest. She performs regularly around the Southwest with groups including Chatter and
Albuquerque Chamber Soloists. Holland is currently the principal second violin of Santa Fe Pro
Musica. She has also been a recurring guest lecturer for the University of New Mexico Pedagogy
Department, specializing in the Mozart Violin Concerti and how to teach them.
Cellist James Holland, a native of Pensacola, Florida, holds degrees in cello performance from
the University of Alabama and the Eastman School of Music. James was a member of the New
World Symphony, and in 1996, was appointed principal cellist of the Charleston (South Carolina)
Symphony Orchestra, a position he held until his relocation to Albuquerque in 2007 with his wife,
violinist Megan Julyan Holland.
He performs frequently with most of New Mexico’s musical organizations, including Albuquerque
Chamber Soloists, Chatter, The Figueroa Project, the Placitas Artists Series, Santa Fe Symphony,
and Santa Fe Pro Musica. Holland also maintains a large, active private teaching studio.
A native of Taiwan, pianist Tzu-Feng Liu performs intensively throughout the United States,
Europe and Asia as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative artist. She made her first
orchestral debut at age 12 and her awards include The World International Piano Competition,
Seattle International Piano Festival and Competition, The Seventh Washington International Piano
Artists Competition, UIUC’s 21st Century Piano Commission, and UIUC Concerto Competition.
Tzu-Feng has been invited to play at Concert Hall at the Etherredge Center, Weill Recital Hall at
Carnegie Hall, Foellinger Great Hall at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, historical
Anderson House at Washington DC and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland.
She has received a D.M.A. degree in piano performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign. Liu currently resides in and has a private studio in Albuquerque.

Due to patron concerns expressed to the PAS board about the ease with which the
Omicron strain of the COVID virus can be transmitted, beginning with the January
9, 2022 Zuill Bailey concert and the visual arts reception that precedes it, PAS will
be instituting the following protocols for admission to the concert and art exhibition
venue.
All ticket holders, artists and their patrons, will be required to:

provide evidence of full vaccination OR vaccine medical exemption from their
doctor OR documentation of negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before the
concert
•
wear a properly-fitting mask that fully covers the nose and mouth and extends
to below the chin (masks will be provided to those who need one)
Ticket holders may still enjoy the concert by live-stream using a link being sent via
email. The link to the live-stream concert remains valid for unlimited viewing for a
period of seven days after the concert premieres.

Your ticket entitles you to attend the concert in person and/or to view the
concert virtually from the safety of your own home. The virtual viewing
option ends after the March, 2022 concert. All ticket purchasers will have
access to the link to view the concert virtually. Please read on for more
important information.
At the close of your PayPal ticket purchase, PayPal will email you a
confirmation of sale. Please bring either a printed or digital copy of this
confirmation to the concert venue with you, and present it at the will call
ticket table to claim your tickets on the day of the concert.
If you are purchasing your ticket to view the concert live-stream from the
comfort of your own home:
Placitas Artists Series will automatically send you an email with the
concert link; no further action is needed from you.
The concert link email is sent out on the day before the concert. A watch
page has been set up on the PAS YouTube channel where the concert will
air. The watch page is available as soon as you receive the email with the
concert link.
When you are ready to view the concert, we highly recommend a hard-
wired Internet connection for the best reliability of connectivity.
The concert link will be valid for seven days after the concert premiere;
unlimited views of the concert are available during this seven-day period.
