The Visual Arts

Music and art have a long history of collaboration and it is no exception at the Placitas Artists Series. Annually, we host artists drawn from many types of painters, potters, fiber artists, furniture and toy makers, sculptures, jewelers, glass makers and more to add another dimension to the concert series. They have been selected by jury from a large number of applicants. Each of the nine months of the season PAS exhibits the beautiful work of four of the final 36 artists. Originally, artists came from the vast number of them living in Placitas but over the years we have also begun to show the work of artists from neighboring communities. In fact, all New Mexicans are eligible. A reception to meet the artists and view their work begins at 2:00 p.m. prior to each concert. All artwork is for sale. You can use cash, check or credit card. The Placitas Artists Series also arranges for visual arts displays in the El Pueblo Clinic in Bernalillo and First Community Bank of Placitas. We hope you enjoy the exhibits. Take time to browse, talk with the artists and become familiar with their creative process. We think you’ll find it very rewarding.
