Thanks to his family's interest in photography, Bill Tondreau was immediately fascinated by the techniques and imagery that surrounded him in his childhood. During the 60's and 70's he refined his photographic skills at the design studio of Charles and Ray Eames. Applying the principles of imagery and design he learned there, he moved on to motion picture visual effects. He has received 3 Academy Awards for his film work, most recently an Oscar in 2004. Tondreau is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and is an active participant in the New Mexico film industry.

Tondreau says: |
"Upon moving to Albuquerque in 1988 I was deeply impressed by the beautiful scenery surrounding our local communities. While many landscape photographers feel the need to work far from home, I have instead tried to bring a newcomer's impression of the local terrain to my photographs, partly as a reminder to those who have lived here all there lives that this really is a very magical place. My images are made by seamlessly stitching together dozens of photographs into a single, high resolution print that can be minutely explored for the many stories captured within." |
