Leslie Jakobovits was introduced to fine art by his maestro Arthur Bressler in 1962. He continued his studies at the Art Student's League in New York, the Academie de le Grande Chaumiere in Paris and spent two years painting in Israel, Sweden, France and Hungary, where his family originated. He received his MFA in painting from Washington State University in 1975 where he studied with Gaylen Hansen. Jakobovits continued his studies in India, Asia and the far East and has recently moved to Placitas after 5 years painting and living in Mexico.
