Violinist Valerie Turner, a native New Yorker, has an extensive career performing with orchestras and chamber ensembles such as the American Symphony, the Manhattan Philharmonic, the Long Island Philharmonic, the Bronx Arts Ensemble, the New York Chamber Players, the New Jersey Symphony, the New York City Ballet, the Metropolitan Opera Association, the Santa Fe Opera, the Charleston Symphony, the Stamford Symphony, the Albany Symphony, the Connecticut Grand Opera, the Stamford Chamber Orchestra, the Virginia Opera Association, the Center for Contemporary Opera, and the Craftsbury Chamber Players. Turner received her musical education at the State University of New York at Purchase. Turner and her violinist husband, Guillermo Figueroa, are the Founders and Artistic Directors of the acclaimed Festival de Musica Rondena chamber series in Albuquerque. They reside in Albuquerque with her and their three daughters. Turner and Figueroa will be performing together with Willy Sucre & Friends on April 17, 2011. |
